To minimise the risk with horses, it is so important to continually assess the risk of everything around us when we are working and riding them.
Look at the likelihood and consequence of every situation.
For instance, a quiet dog that has been around horses all his life may be overlooked when a new horse is brought in to the stables. The likelihood of the dog upsetting the new horse may be low, but the consequences could be disastrous!
